Have you heard of the Applique Guild of Australia? I hadn't, until a random web search led me to them. The guild formed in 2012 with the aim of promoting the art of applique in Australia and bring like-minded people together.
The guild is open to all who have an interest in applique, whether traditional or modern, hand or machine, novice or professional. At present, it's Victoria-based, though they seem keen to open chapters elsewhere in Australia. The current chapters are located at Albury-Wodonga, Mornington Peninsular, Nullawarre on the Great Ocean Road, Pascoe Vale in Melbourne and Warrandyte in NE Melbourne.
For more information on their activities, see their very informative website.
